PHOTOS: Massive 6.4 Magnitude Earthquake in Taiwan Leaves People in Fear

Recently, many were saddened by the news report confirming a 6.4 magnitude earthquake which hit Taiwan. Based on a report, the 6.4 tremor was centered in the East China Sea about 21 kilometers north-northeast of Hualien City.

Reports came and photos have shown how much damage this earthquake had caused. Heart-breaking photos have captured and never imagined what a 6.4 magnitude can do.

Reportedly, Taipei is one of the places that were affected by the quake which led to the collapse of three buildings – two city department buildings and the Marshall Hotel.

Early reports stated that two people were left dead and more than 200 people were left injured by the 6.4-magnitude earthquake. Among those who were left injured by the incident are 50 Japanese tourists. 400 rescuers arrived in the place to help the victims.

 

 

The area was struck by several strong earthquakes a few days before the 6.4-magnitude quake hit it. An aftershock with a magnitude of 5.4 followed the tremor.

Based on a recent report in News 5, Manila Economic and Cultural Office confirmed that one Filipino is missing after the 6.4-magnitude tremor hit Taiwan. The MECO serves as the Philippines’ representative office in Taiwan.

According to the report, the number of people left injured by the incident will not fall below two hundred and twenty-five and 145 people are missing. Among those who were wounded Japanese, Chinese, and Czech nationals.
