Yesterday, Sir Raffy Tulfo got able to interview the mother of the child. And the mother Jenny got the chance to defend herself and state her side of the story. According to the mother, she just left minutes before Jasper saw the child inside the car.
According to the mother Jenny, she and her husband owned and manage a store in Metrowalk Pasig and because of she breastfeeds her child, she always carries her baby wherever she goes along with their another 6-year-old child.
Around 4 am that day, she noticed that her baby is already sleepy so she decided to return back to their car in the parking area. (a)
Minutes after, the baby fell asleep but her husband called her because their older child was hungry and wants to eat.
Jenny emphasized that she left the baby for just quiet some time. She even suggested checking the CCTV footage in the area to support her reason.
Sir Raffy express his pieces of advice to the mother and told her the possible outcomes of leaving a child in a car.
Jenny also denied the accusations that she and her husband went there to drink and have fun and Jasper who posted the video was the one who is drunk and not even talked to her when she arrived.
“Hindi po kasi niya ako kinausap. Andoon pa po siya. Ang tagal niya sa may sasakyan niya. Nagmumura siya. Lasing na lasing po siya. Ang baho nga, e. Amoy na amoy. Sabi ko nga sana nilapitan niya ako. Ayoko siyang lapitan kasi lasing siya. Binaligtad niya ako, ako daw ‘yong lasing kaya ayaw niya akong lapitan kasi lasing daw ako baka daw awayin ko siya. Sabi ko, ‘Hala, hindi!’”
(a) Before this, she was first also stated her side in an interview by ABS-CBN and told the reporters that the viral video didn’t show the other side of the car with an open window. Also, the door was not left locked as Jasper said on his video.
ABS-CBN got to interview the security guards on the parking area, here’s what they said.
Meanwhile, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) explained that the parents can possibly face charges for leaving the baby inside the car if proven there’s a neglect on their side. (a)
“That is neglect and neglect, eh nasaktan ang bata, may abuse na agad doon… Puwede po naming kunin ‘yong bata until such period of time.”
As of now, investigation regarding this incident is still ongoing.
