Lyndee Pellettiere-Swapp, a 45-year-old woman from Arizona, was found unconscious at her home by her son, Steven when he came home. He called the police right away, in a rush to help get his mother to safety.
When he checked her into the hospital, the doctors informed his entire family that Lyndee was in a c()ma where she stayed for 12 days. (a)
Eventually, doctors told the family there was nothing that could be done. To follow Lyndee’s wishes to donate her organs, the medical team suggested she be pul1ed off life support.
But in fact, she was alive and very conscious the whole time!
ANOTHER INSPIRING STORY, Mother Gave Birth Via C-section: Baby’s reaction after being born leaves the room speechless
This is her incredible story!
(a) The family was finally convinced there is nothing more they can do, and they decided to say their final goodbyes to Lyndee and started speaking to her one by one.
Even though she was in the void, she could actually hear them. Lyndee began to realize how much danger she was in.
“I could just hear everybody having conversations,” she says.
She heard doctors explaining how the family would witness the process of her expiring. It must have been terrifying and agitating for Lyndee being unable to move, talk and communicate but to be trapped in a c()matose state while her physical body is put to end.
What Lyndee’s family didn’t know was that she could hear everything that was going on around her. “It was very agitating,” she says. “I couldn’t move, I couldn’t talk, I couldn’t respond.” (a)
But then she remembered she is a fighter, her husband was also whispering in her ears, “you are a fighter, you are a fighter.”
These words lead to something miraculous, she says, I have heard him say “You have to fight.” The medics were waiting outside her room to harvest her organs, and the plug was pulled…
(a) “I’m a fighter,” Lyndee managed to say. The family was blown away! Just as they were saying goodbye to their mama, just after they had pulled the plug, there she was alive, alert, a fighter.
What happened next was nothing short of a miracle, she finally awake! And everyone, including the doctors, and the team waiting to have her organs in shock, and left her family crying tears of joy.
(a)“Just because you’re not conscious doesn’t mean you can’t hear,” Lyndee says, “so you should talk to your loved ones if somebody’s in that situation.”
Steven says the experience has changed him forever. “Keep your family close and don’t let them go,” he says.
Stories like these remind us just how much power there is in love and communication, not to mention the many mysteries of the human mind. (a)
The experience this family went through, teaches us when people are in the same state it is very important to remember that we need to communicate with them and talk to them and tell them to come back – just because they are unconscious it doesn’t mean that they can’t hear. Never give up hope and goodwill!
